Class of 1968
Robinson 100th Anniversary

Here's where we get a little...let's just say...nostalgic.

I feel lucky that 37 years later, I have some fond memories to look back on. I just wish they were of Robinson.

But I digress...we all know we have some joyous memories of our high school years, or we wouldn't be getting together. For me, the nostalgia is a bit strange. I have to mentally fill in some blanks, because I wasn't around senior year. I went off to college without having graduated high school. Four years later, on a visit to Robinson, Dr. Shappell saw me walking around the halls and pulled me into his office. He very graciously pulled out a diploma from his desk drawer and signed it and gave it to me. He said I might as well have it, since I had just graduated college. I have always been very relieved that I didn't have to go through life as a high school drop out (or is that spelled "dropout"?). So, the truth is, in 11th grade, I couldn't wait to move on. But now I know what I missed. And it wasn't just Jeff selling Maryjane's at the kiosko, although I would love to see a movie of that, too.

A word of thanks goes to Jeff King, who lent me his 1967 and 1968 yearbooks for the scanned pages that follow. He has asked me to ask you to ignore the personal notes that you all wrote in his books. Since I haven't read the notes, all I can say is, I hope they are not insults. And if they are, I sure you don't really mean it.

So, without further ado, I present to you,

The Graduating Class of 1968
